Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly qualified English Writing Tutor to join our elite instructional team. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in English Literature and demonstrate exceptional skill in guiding students through various writing formats—ranging from academic essays and literary analysis to creative writing and personal statements.
This role involves working closely with middle school, high school, and pre-university students to help them improve their writing proficiency, critical thinking, and written communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, personalized tutoring sessions (in-person and/or online)
Teach writing mechanics, essay structure, grammar, vocabulary, and rhetorical techniques
Provide support for school assignments, literary analysis, and creative writing projects
Assist students in preparing for standardized tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, and AP English
Guide students in crafting impactful personal statements and application essays
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed
Collaborate with the EAS academic team and maintain communication with parents or guardians
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in English Literature (mandatory)
Minimum 5 year of tutoring or teaching experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adapt to diverse student needs and learning styles
Familiarity with Ontario curriculum and international academic standards
