We are seeking an experienced Workplace Adjustments Lead to establish, lead and continuously improve a contemporary, person-centred Workplace Adjustments Program across Ambulance Victoria.
This is a unique opportunity to shape a new organisational capability that supports accessibility, inclusion and sustainable employment outcomes. The role combines strategic program leadership, specialist workplace adjustments expertise, stakeholder engagement and case coordination to remove barriers to employment while balancing operational, safety and service delivery requirements.
Reporting to the Senior Lead HR Strategy within Workplace & Employee Relations, you will partner closely with leaders, employees, Health and Safety, external providers and key stakeholders to embed consistent, compliant and effective workplace adjustment practices across the organisation.
This is a Full Time, Permanent position. While WFH/Hybrid options are available, it is essential that the successful applicant maintains a presence at Doncaster Headquarters in line with our hybrid working model.
About the role
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Lead the design, implementation, governance and continuous improvement of Ambulance Victoria's Workplace Adjustments Program
Act as the central point of expertise for workplace adjustments, providing advice, coaching and support to leaders, employees and key stakeholders
Assess and coordinate complex workplace adjustment requests, ensuring recommendations are evidence-based, practical and aligned with operational requirements
Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and external organisations (e.g. Australian Disability Network, Job Access) to ensure contemporary and best-practice approaches
Build organisational capability through education, training and coaching on disability confidence, inclusive leadership, neurodiversity, reasonable adjustments and functional capacity considerations
Develop policies, frameworks, procedures, resources and governance arrangements to support consistent organisation-wide application of workplace adjustments
Conduct or coordinate functional assessments, discovery meetings, ergonomic reviews and risk assessments to identify appropriate adjustments
Prepare regular reports for Executive, Health & Safety governance, and the People & Culture Board Committee
About you
To be considered for this position you will possess:
Completion of a degree or relevant industry certification with proven subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and relevant experience in case management, occupational therapy, physiotherapy or other allied health-related discipline
Experience in workplace adjustments, including neurodiversity, chronic health conditions, functional capacity and reasonable-adjustment frameworks
Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and coaching skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and navigate sensitive and complex matters
Significant experience in program design that includes the build, design, implementation and embedment of organisational wide programs
Strong analytical and problem solving capabili ty, with the ability to balance individual needs with operational, safety and service delivery requirements
Strong case management and assessment capability, including conducting functional and ergonomic assessments, coordinating workplace modifications, and managing injury/illness-related matters with sensitivity, discretion and sound judgement
