Wedding Videographer (Contract / Part-Time)

Location: Calgary, Alberta (with travel throughout Southern Alberta including Banff, Canmore, Cochrane, Airdrie, Okotoks, Kananaskis, and surrounding areas)
Compensation: $25–$40/hour (based on experience, equipment, skill level, and performance)

We are seeking a talented, dependable, and professional Wedding Videographer to join our team and help create memorable wedding films for couples throughout Alberta.
This position is ideal for an experienced videographer who enjoys working in fast-paced environments, interacting with clients, and capturing meaningful moments while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
About the Role
As a Wedding Videographer, you will be responsible for filming weddings, engagements, and special events throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. You will work independently or alongside photographers and other team members to capture high-quality footage while providing an exceptional client experience.
Successful candidates are organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and capable of performing under pressure in environments where there are no second chances to capture important moments.
Responsibilities
Film weddings, engagements, and special events throughout Calgary and Southern Alberta.
Capture key moments including ceremonies, speeches, first dances, portraits, details, and candid interactions.
Record professional-quality audio throughout wedding and event coverage.
Work collaboratively with photographers, wedding planners, DJs, venues, and other vendors.
Follow wedding day timelines and adapt quickly to changing schedules and conditions.
Direct couples when necessary to capture natural and cinematic footage.
Maintain a professional appearance and provide exceptional customer service.
Travel independently to wedding venues and event locations.
Manage equipment responsibly and ensure all necessary gear is prepared before assignments.
Represent the Cinetic Studio brand professionally at all times.
Deliver a positive and memorable experience for clients and guests.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of professional videography experience.
Previous experience filming weddings, events, or similar live productions.
Strong portfolio demonstrating professional videography work.
Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence.
Reliable personal vehicle and ability to travel throughout Southern Alberta.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Customer service, hospitality, retail, sales, or other client-facing experience is considered a strong asset.
Comfortable interacting with clients both in person and over the phone.
Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Equipment Requirements (Mandatory)
Applicants must own and maintain their own professional videography equipment suitable for commercial wedding and event work.
Required equipment includes:
Professional mirrorless or cinema camera system
Backup camera body
Professional lenses suitable for wedding and event coverage
Gimbal or stabilization system
Professional audio recording equipment (wireless microphones and/or audio recorders)
Adequate batteries, chargers, memory cards, and accessories for full-day wedding coverage
Reliable backup and file management workflow
Computer capable of reviewing, managing, and delivering professional video files
Applicants should be comfortable filming in challenging lighting conditions including churches, reception venues, outdoor ceremonies, and evening events.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a lead wedding videographer.
Experience creating cinematic wedding films and highlight videos.
Strong understanding of composition, lighting, camera movement, audio capture, and storytelling.
Familiarity with wedding timelines and event logistics.
Experience working in luxury, hospitality, or high-end customer service environments.
Experience using professional editing software such as:
Adobe Premiere Pro
DaVinci Resolve
Final Cut Pro
Basic color grading and audio editing knowledge.
Drone experience is considered a strong asset. Applicants with experience capturing aerial footage and holding a valid Canadian drone certification will be given preference.
Availability Requirements
Must be available for evening and weekend assignments.
Flexible schedule required, as weddings primarily occur on weekends and peak event dates.
Applicants may currently work full-time or part-time elsewhere, provided they can reliably commit to scheduled wedding bookings.
Ability to travel to venues in Calgary, Banff, Canmore, Kananaskis, Cochrane, Airdrie, Okotoks, and other surrounding locations.
Compensation
$25–$40 per hour, depending on:
