The Role
Reporting to the Waste Collection Foreman and based in Wilberforce NSW. The primary purpose of this role is to provide kerbside waste collection services to Council’s residential and commercial clients. It also involves transporting the collected waste to the Council’s Waste Management Facility or other designated disposal sites as directed.

You are a reliable and safety-conscious operator who takes pride in delivering essential services to the community. You’ll thrive in a hands-on role that keeps our city clean and running smoothly. A strong work ethic and commitment to completing scheduled waste collection routes for both residential and commercial customers. Confidence in operating heavy vehicles and transporting waste to designated Council facilities. A solid understanding of, and compliance with, National Heavy Vehicle Laws. A proactive approach to daily truck maintenance and the ability to perform minor on-road repairs when needed. Attention to detail in maintaining accurate logbooks and other required records. A responsible attitude toward vehicle care, including timely reporting of any damage or defects to the Plant Supervisor. You will demonstrate a mechanical aptitude and be physically fit to undertake the requirements of the position.
Essential Criteria
Previous truck driving experience
Understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Laws and compliance
Proactive approach to daily truck maintenance
Perform minor on-road repairs when needed
Attention to detail in maintaining accurate logbooks and other required records
Previous experience in waste collection industry
Demonstrate a mechanical aptitude
Ability to communicate with customers in a polite manner
The right to live and work in Australia
Class HR Drivers Licence
WHS General Construction Work in NSW
Working with Children Check (WWCC)
Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
