Job Description
Responsibilities
Strategic Architecture Leadership
• Define and execute the enterprise data and technology architecture strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
• Partner with the CTO and executive team to shape the future-state architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency across all platforms.
• Build and use technology to meet business strategies while maintaining a focus on cost optimization and operational efficiency.
Enterprise Data, Governance & AI Readiness
• Quickly assess current state architecture platforms and design.
• Plan and develop a future state end-to-end architecture company-wide.
• Design and implement a forward-looking data architecture that enables seamless data flow, strong governance, and enterprise-wide AI readiness. Establish frameworks for data quality, lineage, privacy, and accessibility to ensure trusted insights and responsible AI adoption.
Technology Rationalization & Debt Management
• Ensure that technical debt is systematically identified, prioritized, and reduced across platforms and applications.
• Lead the development and execution of a technology rationalization plan that streamlines the portfolio, modernizes legacy systems, and maximizes ROI from technology investments.
Cloud Architecture Strategy & Enablement
• Oversee the modernization and governance of enterprise cloud ecosystems and infrastructure.
• Lead cloud migration and optimization efforts, ensuring security, compliance, and scalability.
• Introduce automation, observability, and innovation in platform engineering.
Operational Excellence & Governance
• Establish governance frameworks, standards, and performance metrics (KPIs, SLAs) for architecture and data platforms. Oversee cybersecurity, risk management, and regulatory compliance aligned with enterprise information security policies.
Collaboration, Leadership & Partnerships
• Partner across business, engineering, product, and data teams to align architecture with strategic business outcomes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, diverse team that fosters innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with vendors and technology partners to drive efficiency, modernization, and data-driven innovation.
Requirements
• 15+ years of progressive technology leadership in enterprise architecture, data strategy, and platform modernization
• Proven experience in rationalizing complex technology environments, reducing technical debt, and delivering measurable cost efficiencies
• Demonstrated success leading transformation of large-scale data and technology ecosystems in financial services or similarly regulated industries
• Strong track record of building AI- and data-ready enterprise architectures
• Experience marrying business architecture with future state architecture
• Expertise in enterprise data architecture, governance, and analytics
• Deep understanding of cloud-native design, integration, and modernization
• Strategic ability to balance innovation, performance, and cost optimization
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
• Strong executive communication, influence, and leadership capabilities
Education and Certifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
• TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification
• CISSP / CISM (information security)
• AWS, Azure, or GCP Cloud Architecture certifications
