Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer
Job Description
A minimum of 10+ years of progressively complex experience in a healthcare setting, ideally as a sitting VP of Compliance or Chief Compliance Officer, although deputy or divisional compliance officers with appropriate experience, span of responsibility, and executive presence will also be considered.
Bachelor’s degree required; a J.D. or Masters in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Relevant certifications such as Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent are preferred.
Demonstrated ability to integrate knowledge of a company’s business, strategy, and key initiatives into assessments of compliance risk and compliance program elements.
Experience assessing compliance risk according to relevant data and delivering practical solutions on issues of materiality to a company.
Deep expertise in federal and state healthcare privacy and data protection laws and regulations and experience managing operational privacy issues beyond HIPAA breach risk assessments and related auditing and monitoring.
Knowledge of regulations relating to Medicare and Medicaid program participation, qualified clinical data registries, and third-party intermediaries.
Proven ability to build and lead a strong team and create a sense of cohesion and morale while driving the team to achieve its goals.
Experience working directly with senior company leadership and presenting to senior leaders and boards of directors on compliance matters.
Demonstrated interest in or experience with evaluating and implementing automation and AI-driven tools to strengthen compliance auditing, monitoring, and program management capabilities.
Comfort with ambiguity and uncertainty; ability to adapt nimbly and lead others through complex situations.
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
High level of integrity, executive maturity, humility, and self-awareness.
Strong work ethic and sense of urgency and initiative with little day-to-day instruction and oversight.
Experienced in sponsor-backed (PE, VC) or other high-growth environment preferred.
The candidate may reside anywhere in the U.S. contingent upon their ability and willingness to travel as needed. Approximately 10% travel is expected for this role, which may include attendance at client meetings, industry conferences, company events, and other business-related activities. Travel is primarily domestic with occasional international travel.
Salary Range Statement
It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Individual wage rates may be influenced by a variety of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, licensure, certifications and geographic location and will be evaluated in alignment with internal equity.
Total Compensation Statement
Base pay represents one element of the total compensation package. Eligible employees may also receive an annual cash bonus and access to a comprehensive benefits offering, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
Pay Range: USD $180,000.00 - USD $242,000.00 /Yr.
