This is a full-time position with day time, weekday hours only. No weekends!

Minimum 2 years’ experience as an veterinary assitant or certification.

Our Veterinary Assistants are an integral part of the Coulee Veterinary Clinic team. By supporting our Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians, they play a key role in providing exceptional veterinary care to our patients.

Veterinary Assistants help create a positive experience from the moment a client and their pet arrive. Their professionalism, compassion, and willingness to assist wherever needed help ensure every client feels welcomed, supported, and cared for throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Veterinarian (DVM) and Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) with examinations, treatments, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment for patient care.
Safely restrain and handle patients during examinations and procedures.
Weigh patients and obtain basic patient information upon arrival.
Answer telephone calls promptly, professionally, and compassionately.
Schedule appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits accurately.
Welcome clients, check patients in and out, and provide exceptional customer service.
Process payments, invoices, estimates, and pet insurance claims.
Confirm appointments and send reminders to clients.
Maintain accurate patient records through filing, scanning, faxing, and electronic medical record management.
Assist with completing new client registrations and medical record transfers.
Clean and disinfect exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and equipment between patients following clinic protocols.
Keep the treatment area, and client waiting areas clean, organized, and well stocked.
Restock medical supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
Take patient photographs for medical records when appropriate.
Provide basic nutritional guidance and educational information to clients (additional training provided).
Assist with laboratory sample preparation and packaging as directed.
Support the team with general housekeeping and daily clinic operations.
Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all clinic policies, safety protocols, and infection control procedures.
Work collaboratively with all team members to provide compassionate, high-quality veterinary care and create a welcoming experience for every client and patient.
