Job Description
You’ll be our : Vehicle Assembly Technician (UR3245)You’ll be based at : IBC Knowledge Park, BengaluruYou’ll be aligned with : Prototype Design and BuildingYou’ll be joining our : Product_Industrial Design teamWhat you’ll do at Ather :Assemble prototype vehicles based on design and engineering specifications, including chassis, body panels, suspension, drivetrain, wiring harness, and EV components.Collaborate with the design, electrical, and mechanical engineering teams to interpret CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.Integrate custom-designed parts and components (3D printed, machined, or handmade) into functional prototype vehicles.Conduct basic functional testing of assembled vehicles (fit & finish, motor operation, brake feel, electrical connectivity, etc.).Assist in preparing vehicles for internal design reviews, leadership demos, and test rides.Maintain a clean and organized prototype workshop, ensuring proper tool use, safety protocols, and inventory management.Provide feedback to design and engineering teams on assembly issues, tolerances, or improvement opportunities.Support minor rework, modifications, and adjustments as required during design iterations.Help document assembly procedures, part fitment issues, and prototype build learnings for future reference.Here’s what we’re looking for :Hands on experience in assembling and disassembling vehicle.Hands-on experience in functional testing of rideable proto mules.Familiarity with CAD software like SolidWorks or Creo (viewing & referencing models).Experience in using tools and equipment at an R&D lab for in-house builds and testing.Aptitude is vehicle quick fixes.Understanding mechanical and electrical circuit for quick troubleshooting.What you bring to Ather :ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.2–5 years of experience in vehicle assembly, preferably with EVs or two-wheelers.
