Tax Preparer
Job Summary
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-driven Tax Return Preparer to support our UK and Ireland clients in a fast-paced outsourcing environment. The role involves preparing and reviewing tax returns, handling client communications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory deadlines while managing high volumes of work with accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare UK Individual Tax Returns (SA100) for a wide range of clients including salaried individuals, landlords, and those with dividend income.
• Prepare UK Partnership Tax Returns (SA800).
• Perform Capital Gains Tax (CGT) calculations and reporting.
• Prepare Ireland tax returns (Form 11 and Form 12), where applicable.
• Review prior-year tax returns and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Handle bulk tax return preparation within tight deadlines during peak seasons.
• Ensure timely submission of returns in line with HMRC and ROS compliance requirements.
• Work extensively on tax software including Iris, CCH, TaxCalc, Digita, TaxFiler (UK) and Tax Pro, Bright (Ireland).
• Use Excel for data organization, reconciliations, and tax computations.
• Manage client communication via Outlook, addressing queries and maintaining professional correspondence.
• Coordinate with onshore teams/clients to resolve queries and ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain data confidentiality and adhere to internal quality standards and SLAs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in UK and/or Ireland tax return preparation.
• Experience working in an outsourcing/KPO or accounting firm environment preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines during peak periods.
Tax Reviewer
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Reviewer to oversee the quality and accuracy of UK and Ireland tax returns prepared by the team. The role involves reviewing complex tax computations, ensuring compliance with HMRC and ROS regulations, and supporting the delivery of high-quality outputs in a deadline-driven outsourcing environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Review UK Individual Tax Returns (SA100) prepared by tax preparers, including income from salary, dividends, and property.
• Review UK Partnership Tax Returns (SA800) for accuracy and completeness.
• Review and validate Capital Gains Tax (CGT) computations and disclosures.
• Review Ireland tax returns (Form 11 and Form 12), ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
• Perform detailed reviews of working papers, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Identify errors, inconsistencies, and risks, and provide clear review notes and corrective guidance to preparers.
• Ensure tax returns are compliant with HMRC and ROS guidelines prior to submission.
• Handle complex tax scenarios and provide technical guidance to the team.
• Monitor turnaround times and ensure deadlines and SLAs are consistently met.
• Collaborate with onshore teams/clients to resolve technical queries and escalations.
• Maintain quality control standards and contribute to process improvements.
• Use tax software such as Iris, CCH, TaxCalc, Digita, TaxFiler (UK) and Tax Pro, Bright (Ireland).
• Support training and mentoring of junior team members.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in UK and/or Ireland tax, with at least 1–2 years in a review role.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK tax (SA100, SA800, CGT) and/or Ireland tax (Form 11 & Form 12).
• In-depth understanding of HMRC and ROS compliance and filing requirements.
• Experience in an outsourcing/KPO or accounting firm environment.
• Proficiency in tax software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and review skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to identify risks and provide practical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage multiple reviews under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
• Exposure to offshore delivery models and direct client interaction.
• Professional qualification (part/fully qualified CA/ACCA/ACA) is an advantage.
