Institute:
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Mumbai
Qualification and Key Skills Required:
• BTech / BE (or equivalent degree) OR
• MTech / ME (or equivalent degree) OR
• Ph.D in Aerospace, Robotics, or Control Systems with relevant experience
• Solid understanding of Flight Controller firmware(ArduPilot/PX4) specially in state estimation, filter and control part of firmware.
• Proficiency and understanding in Embedded C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Ability to collaborate across research and engineering teams to translate control algorithms into deployable Flight Controller.
• Understanding of Controls(Linear/Non-Linear) and UAV(Fixed Wing/VTOL/Multirotor) Flight Dynamics.
• Understanding of Linear Algebra, Quaternion Math, Coordinate Transformations.
• Proven experience in PID Control Loops and Tuning, state estimation, and filters.
• Familiarity with STM32 or similar SoC families.
• Experience with embedded system development, and various communication protocols (especially USB, SPI, I2C, UART).
• Good understanding of coding standards, modularity, and unit testing in embedded systems.
• Prior experience in the Aerospace, Aviation, or UAV industries is highly advantageous.
Job Profile:
• Design and develop autonomous flight control for different class of UAVs
• System identification and understanding mathematical models of UAV Platforms.
• Calibrate and integrate various sensors (like IMUs, GPS, Barometer and Optical flow sensor)
• Sensor fusion techniques for state and parameter estimation of UAVs
• Integration of the developed algorithms into Microcontroller like such as STM32 ARM based processor
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance the capabilities of UAV systems
• Maintain a Proper documentation of design process, test results, modifications in algorithms and provide technical reports
• Any other work assigned as per requirement
