Introduction:
CRCS is seeking passionate and skilled Treasurer to join our Board. If you are driven to make a positive impact on the strategic direction of an organisation, while adding value to the lives of people of all ages and stages across the territory and beyond, this is a rewarding opportunity.
About the Organisation
Capital Region Community Services (CRCS) provides a range of high quality, integrated and inclusive programs and services to individuals, families, children, and young people. CRCS works with community members, local organisations, and businesses to develop responsive programs, services and activities that support self-determination and reduce social isolation. With strong relations with government and other community services, CRCS’s vision is to create an inclusive, connected community.
About the Opportunity
The Treasurer is responsible for ensuring the Board is empowered to govern the financial affairs of the organisation. The role of Treasurer chairs the CRCS Board Finance Sub-committee.
This is a key role within the CRCS Board, which provides high level expertise and support to the Board in the achievement of the organisations vision, purpose and strategic goals. This role will work closely with the Board, CEO, Executive Manager Business and Infrastructure to achieve the strategic and financial goals of CRCS.
This role will require an individual to have degree level qualifications in finance/accounting and hold current CPA/CA membership. The individual will require high level knowledge of the financial management requirements for a Company Limited by Guarantee, Aged Care Services, Education and Care Services and government funded programs.
The Board meets monthly, with some additional engagements as needed throughout the year. On average, we estimate a time commitment of approximately 4–5 hours per month.
Ideal candidate (Selection Criteria)
Degree level qualifications in accounting or related discipline.
CPA or CA qualifications and associated membership of the relevant professional body.
Executive leadership experience in a Chief Financial Officer position or similar.
Demonstrated experience and ability to provide strong leadership to manage the strategic financial operations of a similar size organisation.
In-depth knowledge of forecasting, budgeting, variance reporting, and risk management.
Diversity
We encourage applications from all backgrounds. These include, but are not limited to:
First Nations people
LGBTQIA+
Those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
Carers
Mature age people
People with lived experience of disability
To Apply
Please apply online via the link provided here or on the CRCS careers page. If you would like more information, please contact Deiwane Bakkum via djbakk@outlook.com email for a confidential discussion.
CRCS is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all young children and young people. As part of our commitment to child safeguarding, we require all employees to undergo relevant screening processes, including Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) checks and National Police Checks, Bankruptcy, Disqualified Persons check and other verification steps relevant to Key Personnel capacities.
