About the role
The Transport and Development Advice Engineer role is a new and exciting role with a focus to:
Provide professional civil engineering advice and technical expertise on proposed developments in the Merri-bek municipality to ensure proposed developments minimises impacts on public and Council assets, traffic, parking, drainage and waste generation.
Provide recommendations on civil engineering matters related to property developments, at the planning application stage, the ‘report and consent’ stage and the subdivision stage, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and Council policies.
The delivery of transport infrastructure capital works to the community, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet community needs.
Skills and experience require to perform the role
A degree in Civil Engineering or related field or significant relevant experience.
Required to be registered under Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019.
A minimum of three years engineering (preferably transport) experience, with some exposure to local government.
Experience in transport or related issues and practice in local government and other levels of government is desirable
Proven experience in providing engineering advice on proposed planning applicationsExperience with computer aided design and drafting with GIS and AutoCAD (desirable)
Experience developing and delivering projects.
