Position Purpose
The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering and continuously improving training programs that build foundational and intermediate expertise across Tier 1, Payroll Implementation Specialists (IS), and HCM Implementation Specialists (IS). This role ensures new hires and existing associates develop the technical knowledge, system proficiency, and service skills required to meet operational standards and client expectations.
The role partners closely with Operations and leadership to standardize processes, enhance onboarding, and drive consistent, high-quality learning experiences that support employee readiness and performance.
Key Objectives
Ensure successful onboarding and ramp-up of Tier 1, Payroll IS, and HCM IS associates
Deliver high-quality instructor-led and blended learning programs aligned to operational needs
Continuously improve training content based on feedback, performance data, and process changes
Maintain accurate, up-to-date training materials and knowledge resources
Drive consistency in service delivery through standardized training and best practices
Measure training effectiveness through assessments, quality metrics, and performance outcomes
Support ongoing associate development through coaching and reinforcement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Design, deliver, and facilitate training programs for Tier 1, Payroll IS, and HCM IS roles, including new hire onboarding and ongoing development
Create and maintain training materials, job aids, and knowledge base content to ensure accuracy and consistency
Partner with stakeholders to identify training needs, define learning objectives, and develop targeted solutions
Conduct needs analysis and continuously improve training programs based on operational changes and feedback
Facilitate instructor-led sessions and support blended learning approaches to maximize knowledge transfer
Develop and administer assessments to measure knowledge retention and training effectiveness
Provide coaching and feedback to associates to reinforce learning and improve performance
Ensure alignment of training content with SOPs, system updates, and organizational standards
Support knowledge management efforts (e.g., Salesforce/knowledge base systems) to centralize and maintain training resources
Collaborate cross-functionally to support operational readiness and continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Strong facilitation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
Ability to translate complex processes into clear, effective training content
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement
Working knowledge of payroll and HCM systems, processes, and workflows
High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation and training materials
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and training technologies
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
2+ years of experience in payroll, HCM, or Viventium Operations roles
Experience developing and delivering technical training programs
Experience with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Docebo) or knowledge management systems
Experience working with Tier 1, Payroll IS, or HCM IS onboarding programs
