Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Textile Designer - Home Decor role, located in Jaipur.
The Textile
Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing and creating innovative designs tailored to home decor products, incorporating elements such as embroidery, textile prints, and graphics. Day-to-day tasks include developing design concepts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, researching current trends, and ensuring that the designs align with the company’s focus on sustainability and craftsmanship.
Qualifications
• Proficiency in Home Decor and Textile Prints for creating detailed, culturally inspired designs
• Specialist in the Home Decor category
• Strong expertise in Textiles, with an understanding of fibers, fabrics, and production techniques
• Experience in Graphic Design and Graphics, with skills in design software and attention to detail
• Ability to balance creativity with functionality in home decor designs
• Strong research skills to identify emerging design trends and techniques
• Bachelor's degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field preferred
• Passion for sustainable and ethical practices in design
Design & Development
• Design textile patterns for home décor products (cushions, rugs, throws, table linen, upholstery, etc.)
• Develop seasonal collections aligned with brand aesthetics and market trends
• Create color palettes, motifs, repeats, and placements
• Prepare design concepts, mood boards, and fabric swatches
Sampling & Production
• Coordinate with weavers, printers, embroiderers, and artisans
• Supervise sampling, corrections, and final approvals
• Ensure designs are feasible for handloom / hand-crafted production
• Maintain quality standards across samples and production
Market & Trend Research
• Research domestic and international home décor trends
• Adapt global trends to Indian crafts and materials
• Support design customization for export/buyer requirements
Documentation & Coordination
• Prepare tech packs, design sheets, and sampling notes
• Work closely with merchandisers, sourcing, and marketing teams
• Assist in product photoshoot styling and catalog development
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Degree / Diploma in Textile Design / Fashion Design / Applied Arts
• 2–5 years of experience in home décor or textile design
• Strong understanding of fabrics, yarns, weaves, printing & embroidery
• Hands-on experience with handloom, block print, embroidery, or craft clusters (preferred)
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop (mandatory)
• Strong sense of color, texture, and composition
• Ability to work with artisans and production teams in Jaipur
Preferred (Good to Have)
• Experience in export-oriented home furnishing brands
• Knowledge of costing basics and material sourcing
• Exposure to international buyers or trade fairs
• Passion for Indian crafts and sustainable design
