Duties
Develop comprehensive lesson plans and curriculum tailored to different age groups and skill levels, incorporating arts disciplines such as theater, dance, photography, sewing, culinary arts, or early childhood education.
Deliver energetic and interactive classes that promote active participation, creativity, and skill development in a supportive environment.
Manage classroom dynamics effectively by implementing behavior management strategies and fostering inclusive participation among diverse learners.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate special education needs or varying learning styles, ensuring accessibility for all students.
Collaborate with community partners, schools, or organizations to coordinate programs and expand outreach efforts.
Maintain a safe learning environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines related to arts activities like cooking or movement-based classes.
Document student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to encourage ongoing growth.
Requirements
Proven experience in teaching or facilitating arts-based programs across different age groups; classroom experience preferred.
Strong background in at least one artistic discipline such as theater, ballet, dancing, photography, sewing, or culinary arts; additional skills like childcare or preschool experience are advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to develop engaging curricula that incorporate arts techniques like lesson planning and curriculum development.
Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to motivate students and maintain positive behavior.
Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience working with children or early childhood education settings.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community partners to support student success.
Flexibility to adapt lessons for special education needs or diverse learning environments; experience in behavior management is a plus.
