Surat State School is dedicated to providing quality education to students from Prep to Year 10. With a student population of approximately 100 learners, we offer multi-age classes that cater to the diverse needs of our community. Our students come from both town residents and nearby properties, creating a rich and varied learning environment. About the Role

* Support Classroom Instruction: Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and activities, providing one-on-one or small group support to students as needed.
* Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive and organised classroom environment by managing student behaviour and ensuring adherence to classroom rules.
* Preparation of Materials: prepare educational materials and resources for lessons. including setting up and cleaning up before and after activities.
* Student Supervision: Supervise students during classroom activities, recess, and transitions to ensure their safety and well-being.
* Provide Support for Diverse Learners: Adapt instructional materials and activities to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
* Communication: Maintain open communication with the teacher regarding student progress and any concerns about individual students.
* Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to support the overall goals of the educational program.
* Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

About You
Preferable but not necessary

* A current Senior First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
* A current competency standard of Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Certificate III, or successful assessment against the required competency standards for the Certificate III in Education Support
* Experience in Education: precious experience working in a classroom setting or with children in an educational context.
