Tax Accountant

Job Description:We are seeking a detail-oriented Contract Accountant with a strong background in tax to support our finance and accounting team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in general accounting as well as hands-on tax preparation and compliance. This position offers an opportunity to utilize your expertise in a dynamic environment, providing essential support during busy periods or for special projects.Key Responsibilities:Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, or non-profit organizationsAssist in the preparation of federal, state, and local tax filings and ensure compliance with all applicable regulationsMaintain accurate general ledger records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activitiesSupport tax planning initiatives and identify potential tax savings opportunitiesRespond to inquiries from tax authorities and assist with tax audits as neededCompile and analyze financial information for management and reporting purposesCollaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of all accounting and tax-related tasksMaintain organized and up-to-date documentation for all tax and accounting activities
