Sybase DBA

• Responsible for small to large and complex Sybase environments.
• Main tasks are designing, setting up, configuring, managing and performance troubleshooting Sybase databases.
• From the management perspective, giving consultancy for optimization of the Sybase environments.
• Understand, evaluate and implement tools and trends in database systems administration.
• Develop and implement core Sybase databases
• Maintain and manage backup, recovery, storage and user administration.
• Assist and support in production installations of various ASE releases.
• Assess, evaluate and upgrade production servers to the next release.
• Execute and handle database objects, views, procedures, indexes and file system structure.
• Acting in a team and providing all support to the team

Required Skills/Experience
• Good Knowledge of Unix and Linux Operating system
• Proficiency in Sybase design, administration, implementation, upgrades, monitoring
• Proficiency in database tuning, to ensure that applications run efficiently and reliably.
• Experience with Stored Procedures, Triggers, etc.
• Experience with data and batch loading processes.
• Experience with Data warehouses and transactional databases.
• Proficiency with optimization techniques.
• Knowledge of Oracle or MSSQL is a plus.
• Experience administering a large enterprise database environment.
• Should have ability to work independently.
• Excellent Sybase database knowledge in order perform deep-dive performance troubleshooting
• Having programming skills is a Plus
