Job Description
Brian Perry Civil is a specialist civil construction and ground engineering contractor delivering complex infrastructure projects across New Zealand and the South Pacific, including foundations, marine works, water infrastructure, ground improvement, and environmental remediation.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Surveyor to support the successful delivery of major civil construction projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and construction teams, you will provide accurate surveying services to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering designs and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Surveying & Site Set-Out
Conduct topographical, control, set-out, and as-built surveys.
Establish and maintain survey control points and site benchmarks.
Transfer engineering designs accurately to construction sites.
Verify site dimensions, levels, and construction tolerances.
Survey Data & Technical Support
Operate surveying equipment including GPS/GNSS, total stations, laser levels, and drones where applicable.
Process survey data using CAD and surveying software.
Prepare survey plans, digital terrain models, and as-built documentation.
Support engineers and site teams with accurate survey information.
Construction & Quality Assurance
Assist with the alignment of roads, foundations, structures, pipelines, and other civil works.
Verify completed works against engineering drawings and specifications.
Perform quality checks and report any survey discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with New Zealand standards and project requirements.
Health, Safety & Collaboration
Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures on-site.
Conduct site hazard assessments before survey activities.
Maintain surveying equipment in good working condition.
