You will be undertaking a range of duties to support the child and will work closely with other members of the team in providing the highest standards of care.

Full training will be given to those with the right approach and attitude. The post covers Nights, weekend nights, Bank Holiday nights and school holidays.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Personal skills:
· Maintaining your knowledge of the care plans/working file and reviewing this on a regular basis.
· Be able to show sensitivity and consideration when working with the client’s family within their home.
· Develop good communication skills specific to the client following the advice given by the care and therapy co-ordinator and the team of therapists.
· Be reliable and punctual.
· To be open to and willing to obtain additional training and develop your skills
General:
· Checking, charging and cleaning of equipment
· Maintaining the child’s safety in all environments
· Attending care team review meetings
· To undertake some household duties as and when necessary and assist with the cleaning of specific equipment and resources.
· Follow guidance given by your line manager.
· To comply with relevant legislation and care plans.
· To undertake any other related duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the post.
· Promote, monitor and maintain health, safety and security in the workplace.
· Promote effective communication and relationships with your client, his family and the care team.
· Contributes to the protection of individuals from abuse.
· Establish and maintain a trusting, therapeutic, working relationship with the client, his family, care team, therapy team and case management team.
· Be responsible for the client’s personal welfare.
· Liaise with other agencies as required.
· Complete daily records as advised including daily record sheets, medication sheets, petty cash sheets and critical incidents.
· To fully inform other staff of any recent developments at handover.
