Job Description

Futurepump is a British-Indian solar pump manufacturer with staff in Bungay, UK, Rajkot, India and a growing presence across Africa. From our custom-built factory and office complex in India, we manufacture award-winning solar powered irrigation pumps for smallholder farmers to use across the world, with a network of over 30 country-level distributor partners.
As Support Communications Officer you will be answering pre-sales questions to help potential customers make the correct decision for their needs. You will train and guide distributor technical teams, as well as customers, on how to maintain and repair our 5+ year warranty supported solar irrigation pumps. You will also be responsible for creating technical guides, manuals and videos to ensure our pumps around the world continue to work smoothly.
Examples of tasks:
Answer technical questions that come in via our social media and general email – these may be pre- or post- sale queries
Respond and solve to support cases on our system in a timely manner (meeting our internal target of within 48 hours)
Create guides on retro-fit parts, diagnosis and repairs
Turn complex/technical information into accessible language
Star in technical support videos demonstrating how to diagnose and repair an issue
Working with the in-house marketing team you will manage the full creation of support videos from planning through to approving final edits
Investigate faults and set-up test rigs to recreate situations
Raise issues for further investigation and decide on action or next steps
Provide online training to distributor technical teams
Provide updates and/or internal training to the Futurepump sales and marketing team on updates to any of our products
Essential requirements:
It is essential that the candidate has excellent spoken and written English, as most communication with customers and distributors is in English.
2 years of experience in repair or customer service or creation of technical support documents
Experience or training in a technical field
Ability to explain and train technical and non-technical persons in pump repairs
Ability to remotely review, diagnose and solve technical issues
Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft office, Google Drive and Google Workspace
Ideal but not essential:
Experience with programs like Fusion or Solarworks for technical images
Fluency in additional languages
Location of role:
India – Hybrid. Work from home with regular (monthly) travel to Futurepump India, Rajkot, Gujarat.
