The Evening/Weekend Administrative Assistant & Peer Counsellor provides essential peer counselling support through helpline calls and Crisp chat during evening and weekend shifts. The role ensures empathetic, trauma-informed interactions with clients, documenting all communications accurately in the CRM system. The position supports the Helpline Manager by assisting with maintaining resource directories, updating administrative records, and sharing key trends with the team.

Shift Hours:
Monday to Friday: 4:00 PM – +:00 PM (Evening shifts).
Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Weekend shifts).

Key Responsibilities:

Provide peer counselling support via helpline calls and Crisp chat during assigned shifts.
Ensure empathetic, trauma-informed interactions with all clients.
Document interactions accurately in the CRM system and share key trends with the team.
Assist in maintaining and updating resource directories and administrative records.
Collaborate with team members to ensure continuity and consistency of helpline services.
Support operational improvements by contributing feedback and recommendations.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:

Experience or interest in social work, counselling, psychology, or related fields.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles (training provided).
Proficiency in using technology, including CRM tools and live chat platforms like Crisp.
Ability to work independently during evening/weekend hours.
Multilingual candidates are an asset, particularly in languages spoken by the Foundation’s client base.
Eligibility

This position is part of the Canadian government’s summer job program.
Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or a protected person within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Able to provide a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).
Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
