Job Description
Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator/Welder to join our team in Levin, Manawatu. We are looking for contractors, or we can offer a 12-month fixed term contract to help us deliver a large project.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in structural steelwork and welding, demonstrating a commitment to safety and excellence in workmanship.
Responsibilities:
Interpret and analyse engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate steel components accurately.
Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques to assemble steel structures.
Conduct quality checks on fabricated components to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.
Operate fabrication equipment including saws, drills, presses, rollers etc.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with project managers and other team members to meet project deadlines and specifications.
Assist in the maintenance and repair of welding equipment and tools.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a structural steel fabricator and welder, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
Relevant trade qualification or certification in welding and fabrication.
Strong understanding of welding techniques and safety practices.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
