Structural & Misc Steel Estimator

We're hiring a skilled Structural Steel Estimator to join our team and help with estimating both main structural steel connection design and miscellaneous steel design — including stairs, railings, ladders, gates, and more.
• On structural drawings, identify/quantify time required to perform main steel connection design for shear, moment, bracing, and others that are NOT fully detailed on EOR drawings.
• On architectural drawings, identify/quantify all miscellaneous metal scope items such as stairs, railings, ladders, gates, sink support frames, and other similar miscellaneous metal framing that requires delegated structural design.
• Steel detailing experience with Tekla and/or SDS software is a plus.
• Structural steel design experience with main steel connections and misc metals is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review and interpret architectural + structural drawings.
• Prepare detailed take-offs for design of steel connections or misc steel (e.g., stairs/railings/ladders/etc).
• Identify scope, connection types, and coordination items.
• Work closely with engineers and detailers to ensure accuracy.
• Keep your work organized and clearly documented.

Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the steel detailing or fabrication industry.
• Hands-on experience with actual design of main steel connections and misc work is strong desired to help with actual estimation.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing drawings.
• Understanding of steel connections, stairs, and misc steel systems.
• Engineering Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
• Great communication and problem-solving skills.
