As Strategy Lead – Financial Services Transformation, you will help shape the strategic direction and growth of Velocity’s Financial Services portfolio a critical driver of revenue, member engagement and partner value. You will translate complex data into clear commercial insights, define strategic priorities, and support high-impact transformation initiatives across credit cards, payments and partnerships.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will build business cases, develop financial models, and influence decisions that drive portfolio performance and long-term growth. This role requires a commercially sharp, data-led strategist with experience in financial services, strong analytical capability, and the ability to navigate complexity and deliver outcomes.


What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll lead strategic analysis across the Financial Services portfolio, using data to identify growth opportunities, improve performance, shape product and partnership strategies. You’ll build robust financial models and business cases to support investment decisions, while playing a key role in delivering transformation initiatives across credit cards, payments and emerging products. Working cross-functionally, you’ll influence stakeholders, support partner growth, and translate complex insights into clear, executive-ready recommendations that drive commercial outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Analysing the performance of the Financial Services portfolio, including credit card economics, member engagement, retention and partner outcomes
Developing detailed financial models and business cases to support product enhancements, partnership opportunities and transformation initiatives
Identifying growth opportunities, risks and performance improvement levers through data driven and market led analysis across the acquisition funnel and customer lifecycle
Shaping and supporting the development of product value propositions and partnership strategies across credit cards, payments and emerging financial services
Assisting with the coordination and tracking of transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and delivery milestones
Preparing executive‑ready presentations and reports, translating complex analysis into clear, compelling insights and recommendations

You’ll be great in this role if you:

You’ll combine structured strategic thinking with strong commercial and analytical capability. Ideally, you’ll have:
4–6 years’ experience in strategy, consulting, financial services, loyalty or a related commercial environment
Strong financial modelling and business case development experience
Proven ability to analyse complex datasets and generate actionable insights
Excellent communication skills, including executive‑level PowerPoint and Excel capability
The ability to manage multiple priorities and influence stakeholders across a matrixed organisation
Experience in banking, payments, credit cards, fintech or loyalty transformation (Desirable)
Consulting background (Top Tier or Big 4) (Desirable)
Postgraduate study in strategy, innovation or transformation (Desirable)
