Job description
The Commi I position in the Chinese section is responsible for preparing ingredients, maintaining cooking stations, and assisting chefs in the preparation of Chinese cuisine. This role requires food preparation skills with a focus on Chinese culinary techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for Chinese dishes including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables, meats, and seafood
- Set up and maintain wok stations and other Chinese cooking equipment
- Assist chefs with basic cooking tasks and food preparation
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
- Ensure proper food storage and rotation following health department guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as woks, steamers, and cleavers safely
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month

Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
Read and analyze banquet event order in order to gather guest information, determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, buffets, action stations, etc. Set up banquet area/room, ensuring cleanliness and proper set up. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas. Inspect storage areas for organization, use of First In First Out (FIFO), and cleanliness and rectify any deficiencies. Communicate with guests and other employees to confirm guest needs are met. Monitor staff to confirm team is working together. Direct final breakdown and clean-up of function rooms. Clean and mop all areas in assigned departments (e.g., sink area, shelves and counters in dish room, tops of chemical bottles, back aisles and storage areas). Set tables according to type of event and service standards, including types of linens, glassware, plate/chinaware, and silver/flatware, ensuring all supplies meet quality standards. Communicate food needs clearly to the kitchen and in a timely manner. Respond and try to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements requested by the guest.
Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; and serve as a role model. Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; and complete safety training and certifications. Ensure uniform and personal appearance clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Adhere to quality expectations and standards. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
License or Certification: None
