Position Summary: Ensures all food preparation and storage areas are cleaned and maintained in a safe and sanitary manner
Job Title: Steward
Department: Food Beverage
Reports To: Stewarding Supervisor
FSLA Designation: Non-exempt
License Type: Non-gaming
Target Pay: Start -$23.04 One Year -$25.60
Essential Job Functions:
Sets up the dishwashing area with racks, chemicals, supplies and carts
Scrapes food from dirty dishes
Places tableware in racks or on conveyor to dishwashing machine
Washes pots, pans, and other cooking utensils and equipment
Sweeps and mops kitchen floors
Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen or beverage areas as needed
Segregates and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers
Steam cleans or hoses out garbage cans
Maintains the can wash area on loading dock in sanitary and neat condition
Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas
Organizes china, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment and utensils and supplies
Follows sanitation and safety guidelines
Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older
High school diploma or equivalent
Six months or more related experience or training preferred
Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
Working Conditions:
Regularly required to see, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms; stand and walk
Must occasionally lift and lift up to 25 pounds
Frequently required to stoop, crouch or kneel
Ability to interact with others while maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor
Exposure to high noise level
