Job Description
Main purpose of the role:
To support Personal Injury Lawyers by taking Witness Statements to support personal injury/medical negligence claims. To relay important information obtained from clients and their witnesses to the lawyer overseeing the cases and to give their advice on any evidence obtained.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Interviewing clients and witnesses as requested by the PI/Clinical Negligence Lawyers
Prepare written statements (sometimes complex)
Attend joint site inspections
When required, preparation of locus reports - photographs and sketch plans
Other duties required within the spirit and scope of the post
Flexibility of hours is essential, some weekend/evening work will be required and use of own vehicle is required
Essential skills and experience:
Experience of statement taking and production/legal experience is essential
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
Effective organisation and time management skills
A strong team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality
Ability to take direction, ask appropriate questions and complete tasks independently
