Phoenix Impact est une jeune entreprise montréalaise engagée dans la transition écologique et la réduction des déchets plastiques.
Nous offrons un service de récupération, nettoyage et reconditionnement de consommables de laboratoire en plastique (tubes à essai, pipettes, boîtes de Petri, etc.), permettant leur réutilisation sécuritaire.
Dans un contexte de forte croissance opérationnelle, nous recherchons un·e stagiaire en machine learning/vision par ordinateur pour contribuer à l’automatisation de nos systèmes de tri et de validation de la qualité. Ce stage offre l’opportunité de participer directement à des activités de recherche et développement appliquées. Si tu aimes t’attaquer à des problèmes ouverts et que tu souhaites mettre en pratique tes compétences techniques pour avoir un impact positif direct sur l’environnement, ce poste est fait pour toi !
RESPONSABILITÉS PRINCIPALES
Tu participeras à l’automatisation de nos systèmes.
Tes principales responsabilités seront :
Collaborer avec l’ingénierie et le développement et contribuer à l’architecture du système de tri automatisé.
Proposer des technologies adaptées et spécifiques au problème.
Mettre en place un (ou plusieurs) prototype(s) de système de reconnaissance et d'identification des consommables en plastique.
Établir des tests et validations pour qualifier la performance des systèmes développés.
COMPÉTENCE QUI SERONT DÉVELOPPÉES
Ce stage te permettra de développer des compétences en :
Développement et application pratique de technologies d’apprentissage automatique et de vision par ordinateur.
Développement de tests de validation.
Collaboration technique dans un contexte industriel et entrepreneurial.
Communication et présentation des avancées et résultats techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUISES
Étudiant·e au baccalauréat/maîtrise/doctorat enMachine learning, Intelligence artificielle ou domaine connexe.
Bonnes connaissances en vision par ordinateur, reconnaissance automatique ou similaire.
Rigueur et capacité d’analyse.
Autonomie, sens de l’initiative et curiosité.

We offer a recovery, cleaning, and reconditioning service for plastic laboratory consumables (test tubes, pipettes, Petri dishes, etc.), enabling their safe reuse.
In a context of strong operational growth, we are looking for a machine learning/computer vision intern to contribute to the automation of our sorting and quality validation systems. This internship offers the opportunity to directly participate in applied R&D activities. If you enjoy tackling open-ended problems and want to put your technical skills to use for a direct positive impact on the environment, this position is made for you!
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
You will participate in the automation of our systems. Your main responsibilities will be:
Collaborate with engineering and development and contribute to the architecture of the automated sorting system.
Propose technologies suited to the specific problem.
Develop one or more prototype(s) of a recognition and identification system for plastic consumables.
Establish tests and validations to assess the performance of the developed systems.
SKILLS THAT WILL BE DEVELOPED
This internship will allow you to develop skills in:
Development and practical application of machine learning and computer vision technologies.
Validation test development.
Technical collaboration in an industrial and entrepreneurial context.
Communication and presentation of technical progress and results.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Being enrolled in a Bachelor's/Master's/PhD program in Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Strong knowledge in computer vision, automatic recognition, or similar areas.
Rigor and analytical ability.
Autonomy, initiative, and curiosity.
