Job Description
Full-time, permanent position available in a supportive team.
Based in Auckland, with regular travel across the Northern Region.

Mo te tunga | About the role
As a Staff Welfare Coordinator in the northern region, you'll work closely with Regional Leadership Teams across all business functions and sites to ensure that all staff facing personal or work-related challenges have access to the right welfare services and support.
In this role, you will provide proactive oversight and responsive care as part of a wider national team to ensure consistent practice. You will monitor incidents, identify cases that need welfare intervention, and make sure employees affected by accidents, assaults, or potentially traumatic events, receive the assistance they're entitled to. You will deliver practical support, manage longer-term follow-up for high-need cases, and liaise with internal teams and external providers to achieve the best outcomes for staff. This is not a counselling role, Staff Welfare Coordinators provide short-term practical support, case management, and referrals to external agencies.
Beyond case management, you will play a key role in promoting wellbeing by organising health promotion activities and delivering regular training sessions that help build resilience and support a positive workplace culture.

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate the following:
Critical Incident Response expertise, experience providing support during high-pressure situations and a strong understanding of psychological first aid principles.
Strong case management experience, with a background in social work, community services, or other similar fields.
Facilitation experience, proven ability to deliver health promotion programmes and workshops to a variety of audiences.
Exceptional communication skills, clear, confident, and professional in both written and verbal communication.
Self-management and resilience, highly motivated, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a wider national team, while maintaining composure under pressure.
A high level of attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, reporting, and case management.
A qualification in Social Work, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychology or other related health professions would be an advantage.
A current Full New Zealand Driver Licence and the ability to travel regularly to sites across the region is also required for this role.

The starting point of the salary range begins at $95,080 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
