Staff Platform Infrastructure Engineer

Staff Infrastructure Engineers at Collibra are responsible for
Lead the technical design and architecture of platform services, with a focus on networking, service mesh (Istio), and service-to-service communication.
Design, develop, and manage Kubernetes Operators in Golang, custom tooling, and our Istio service mesh to automate and enhance platform capabilities.
Partner with product teams to co-design infrastructure solutions that improve velocity and reliability while efficiently serving our developers.
Engineer the platform's use of our observability stack (metrics, logs, traces), define SLOs, and implement DevSecOps best practices, including WAF configuration and management.
Mentor other engineers, champion technical excellence, and drive cloud cost optimization through automation.
You have
Production experience managing infrastructure on a major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes and service mesh technologies (preferably Istio).
Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPCs, routing, load balancing, WAFs, network policies).
Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and operational tooling in Golang.
Experience supporting stateful applications like GraphDB and / or Kafka.
Familiarity with cloud security principles (IAM, security groups).
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience.
