The Staff Accountant supports core accounting functions while providing analytical insight into production activity, fixed assets, inventory, and item data management. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting knowledge, data analysis skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment.
Essential job functions:
Analyze production activity to identify material usage variances, cost discrepancies, and output efficiency. Collaborate with production teams to understand root causes and recommend solutions.
Manage and reconcile the fixed asset ledger, including additions, dispositions, and monthly depreciation. Ensure fixed asset reporting aligns with accounting standards and company policies.
Maintain item master data and bills of materials within the ERP system. Coordinate updates across internal departments and external portals (e.g., 1WorldSync). Support inventory valuation, counts, adjustments, and physical audit processes.
Prepare and post journal entries for monthly and year-end close. Assist with account reconciliations, tax filings, and recurring accounting activities such as fuel tracking and A/P support. Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of management and financial accounting practices.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Advanced skill with personal computer, MS Office (especially Excel) and job-related software packages.
Ability to interact with employees from all levels of the Company.
Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks at one time and meet deadlines.
Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting plus 2 years job-related experience.
