Title: Staff Accountant

Location: North York, Ontario.

Workplace type: Hybrid.

Employment type: Full-time, Permanent.

We are seeking a Staff Accountant with prior experience in a public accounting firm, particularly in audit, review, and compilation engagements.

Main responsibilities:
• Managing many relationships both internally with staff and partners and externally with clients.
• Managing, preparing, and reviewing various notice to reader and assurance engagement files including corporate and personal tax planning and preparation.
• Review and audit engagement files.
• Prepare and maintain government remittances/filings, accounts receivable expenses, accounts payable and payroll transactions.
• Set-up client files and assist with the completion of budgets.
• Perform the month-end and quarter-end close process.
• Assist with training junior staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a must.
• CPA designation or pursuing.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm.
• A working knowledge of Quickbooks, Caseware, Caseview and Taxprep/Profile.
• Strong interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining effective working relationships both internally and externally.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team player
• Attention to detail.
• Results driven, has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow. Read more
