Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional with a knack for organization and communication? We're looking for a talented Staff Accountant to join our team! This is a remote position, offering flexibility and the chance to work from anywhere.
What You'll Do
As a Staff Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in our finance team. You'll handle a variety of accounting tasks and, with time and experience, take on more advanced responsibilities. Under the guidance of a Senior Accountant or Manager, your key duties will include:
• Maintain Accurate Records: Manage and update accounting records, including bank reconciliations, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers.
• Record Transactions: Enter daily transactions into our accounting system, covering purchases, sales, and other financial activities.
• Prepare Financial Reports: Compile and analyze data to create profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and income statements.
• Ensure Compliance: Make sure all reporting meets state and federal regulations and assist with internal and financial audits to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Manage Accounts Payable: Keep detailed accounts payable records and ensure timely invoice payments.
• Support Budgeting and Forecasting: Help prepare periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and year-end) and assist in budget forecasts for planning.
• Cost Reduction and Revenue Growth: Offer recommendations for reducing costs and increasing revenue, and assist clients in improving their operations.
• Tax Assistance: Be familiar with income taxes and assist with their preparation and filing.
What We're Looking For
• Skills & Experience: You should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency with accounting software, particularly QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), is essential. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are key to your success.
• Soft Skills: You should be detail-oriented, able to work independently and as part of a team, and capable of multitasking effectively.
