Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Fashion Design
• Research fashion trends, market insights, fabrics, colors, and silhouettes.
• Develop seasonal collections, concepts, mood boards, and product ranges.
• Create sketches, technical drawings, tech packs, and specifications.
• Collaborate with merchandising and sales teams to align collections with customer demand.
• Source fabrics, trims, embellishments, and accessories from vendors.
• Conduct fit sessions and oversee sample development and approvals.
• Ensure all designs align with brand identity and target market requirements.
Production Management
• Plan and manage the end-to-end production process from sampling to final shipment.
• Coordinate with factories, vendors, suppliers, and quality teams.
• Develop production schedules and ensure adherence to delivery timelines.
• Monitor production costs, material consumption, and wastage control.
• Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
• Resolve production issues related to design, fabric, fit, and construction.
• Track inventory of fabrics, trims, and production materials.
• Conduct factory visits and production audits when required.
• Optimize production efficiency and implement process improvements.
Team Leadership
• Lead and mentor junior designers, pattern masters, and production coordinators.
• Coordinate with merchandising, sourcing, quality assurance, and logistics teams.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing and delivery schedules.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or related field.
• 610+ years of experience in fashion design and garment production.
• Strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes and garment construction.
• Experience in women's wear, men's wear, kidswear, ethnic wear, or fashion categories relevant to the business.
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and related fashion design tools.
• Understanding of fabric sourcing, costing, pattern making, and quality control.
Preferred Skills
• Strong trend forecasting and product development expertise.
• Vendor and factory management experience.
• Knowledge of export and domestic production processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple collections and production schedules simultaneously.
