Global Business Services
Global Business Services delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations.

In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.
Process Overview
Consumer Servicing & Operations Technology team provides and delivers technology solutions to support the Consumer Operations and Home Loans lines of business. The teams goal is to drive the optimal technology tools and platforms that enable associates to deliver on the customer experience and contribute to the long-term, profitable growth. The team delivers technology through robust and scalable applications developed on various platforms.
Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.
Responsibilities
Good knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
Experience in Java and knowledge in Hadoop (HDFS/HBASE/SPARKSQL and SPARK/Scala with or prior experience in MapReduce) concepts and the ability to write Spark/Scala Dataset, Dataframe & SQL jobs.
Proven understanding of Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and HBase and ability to write Shell scripting.
Familiarity with data loading tools like Sqoop, Flume, and Kafka.
Knowledge of workflow/schedulers like Oozie.
Good aptitude in multi-threading and concurrency concepts.
Loading data from disparate data source sets.
Certifications like Cloudera Developer (CCA175)/Hortonworks Developer (Spark & Hive)/Administrator Certifications are an added advantage.
Hands-on experience with at least two NO SQL databases.
Ability to analyze, identify issues with existing clusters, and suggest architectural design changes.
Ability/knowledge to implement Data Governance in Hadoop clusters.
