Role: Software Engineer in Test - (Helix Core Swarm)
Location: Pune, India
Perforce develops DevOps tools that improve software quality and security as well as team productivity for several of the world’s leading companies, such as PIXAR, CD Projekt Red, NASA, Verizon, Honda, NVIDIA.
Position Summary
Perforce is looking for a talented and experienced Software Development Engineer in Test to join our Helix Swarm development team. Helix Swarm is the code review tool for the Helix Core Versioning Engine, and is used by many of our largest customers, especially those in the gaming, mobile and electronics industries.
Helix Swarm is a Linux based PHP web application, capable of handling complex code reviews in some of the largest projects. We are an agile team that makes heavy use of CI technologies such as Docker and Jenkins, with automated testing and deployment a core part of the development process. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to help us write automated tests using Ruby and Cucumber on Selenium with multiple browsers and on multiple Linux platforms.
The candidate will be working with a QA team and developers in the UK, as well as developers in Pune, to help produce a high-quality product.
Helix Core is the best version control software (VCS) for world-class development at scale. It securely versions all digital content — even large files — in a single repository. And it scales for large teams, handles 1000s of daily transactions, and delivers files quickly to remote users (even if they’re using Git).
Responsibilities
• Work with the existing team to ensure we have good automated test coverage.
• Provide feedback to the developers to ensure the product is of high quality.
• Work in an agile team, helping to detail user stories and discuss testing requirements.
• Work with UX, Development and Documentation teams.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field required.
• Ideally 8 years commercial experience (post education) of QA functional testing
• Experience with Ruby, Cucumber and testing of web applications (ideally React applications)
• Experience with running and testing web applications in Linux is mandatory.
• Experience with VCS systems, such as Git, SVN or Perforce.
• Experience with CI systems such as Jenkins and Docker.
• Good to have experience with Cucumber, Docker, Selenium/Capybara or Shell Scripting on Linux
