Role Description
We are looking for a
Site Incharge – Solar Power Plant (Operation & Maintenance)
for our
55 MW Solar Power Plant at Bathinda, Punjab
. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for managing the complete day-to-day operation and maintenance activities of the solar power plant.
The Site Incharge will be responsible for ensuring maximum plant availability, safe operation of all electrical equipment, preventive and corrective maintenance, team management, statutory compliance, documentation, client coordination, and overall site administration.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance activities of the solar power plant.
• Supervise preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of plant equipment.
• Monitor plant generation, performance ratio (PR), availability, and other operational KPIs.
• Manage the operation and maintenance of
High Voltage (HT) Switchyard
, transformers, protection systems, switchgear, and associated electrical equipment.
• Coordinate with the SLDC/Utility and ensure safe switching operations as per approved procedures.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, permit-to-work systems, LOTO procedures, and statutory regulations.
• Plan and execute maintenance schedules while minimizing plant downtime.
• Lead and supervise engineers, technicians, and contractor teams to achieve operational targets.
• Maintain site inventory, spare parts, tools, PPE, and consumable materials.
• Prepare and submit Daily Generation Reports (DGR), maintenance reports, incident reports, SCADA reports, preventive maintenance records, and other technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of checklists, testing reports, calibration certificates, shutdown records, and compliance documents.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal management for smooth plant operations.
• Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, commissioning activities, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure housekeeping, quality standards, and HSE compliance across the site.
• Handle site administration, manpower planning, and resource management efficiently.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in
Solar Power Plant Operation & Maintenance
is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of utility-scale solar PV systems, SCADA, inverters, transformers, switchgear, protection relays, and HT electrical systems.
• Hands-on experience in
High Voltage Switchyard Operation & Maintenance (33 kV/66 kV or above)
.
• Good understanding of electrical safety practices, statutory compliance, PTW, LOTO, and HSE requirements.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and preparation of technical reports.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage engineers, technicians, and contractor teams.
• Good communication and coordination skills with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
Preferred Candidate Profile
• Experience in utility-scale solar power plants.
• Good knowledge of SCADA monitoring and performance analysis.
• Strong team management and site coordination skills.
• Ability to manage technical, operational, documentation, and administrative responsibilities effectively.
• Ready to relocate to
