The Project
ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel - Stage 2, Sydney's third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction
Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels
Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway
In line with the above, ACCIONA is now looking for a Site Engineer - Utilities and Traffic, to join the Western Harbour Tunnel Project.
Specific Tasks Include
Day-to-day management of project construction activities.
Monitoring and reporting the performance of the workforce and subcontractors on site to ensure technical, program, quality, environmental, industrial relations, safety, and commercial obligations are achieved and maintained.
Attending design reviews and providing advice relating to constructability, temporary works designs, safety, and site access and associated issues.
Development, monitoring, and control of achievable project schedule.
Planning, managing, and implementing the site establishment activities necessary to ensure all site-specific and contract requirements are met in terms of location, fencing, signage, environmental, logistics, and traffic conditions.
Identification, analysis, and mitigation of potential risk events including establishment of risk register and initiation of corrective action when required.
Managing changes to scope, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
Analyzing variance, trends, risks, and opportunities, key business drivers, and sensitivities, highlighting significant operational performance issues to management.
Ensuring environmental considerations are integral to decision-making for all construction activities.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or similar).
Demonstrated experience in a similar role (Utilities and Traffic).
Well-developed leadership and management skills.
Problem-solving and analytical skills.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail.
