Job Description
Job Overview:
Seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our Toronto based team as a Sign Installer based on site and reporting to the Project & Operations Managers. This individual will be responsible for supporting the production of signs and execution of sign installations by working collaboratively with construction managers, site managers and installation crews.
Responsibilities
Installation of every type of signage - illuminated letters, 3D letters, sign box, lobby, wayfinding, ground, pylon, awning, canopy, reception signage
Service, repair and rewiring of electrical illuminated signage
Refurbishing of old signs with new LEDs and transformers
Accurate measuring of sign area surface at client site
Clean surfaces of sign faces through the use of required solvents (e.g. Acetone) in preparations for the application of vinyl, pre-masking, Application of vinyl to all types of surfaces.
Installation of graphics on substrates, vehicles, signs, displays, storefront surfaces, etc.
Loading and transporting signs, tools, and materials to the site location safely.
Preparing the site for installation by removing old signage, preparing the surface or structure, securing the electrical connections etc.
Ensuring the effective measurement, placement, connection, and installation of the sign.
Mounting and installing the signs in accordance with all safety protocols.
Clearing debris and materials from the site after each installation.
Performing maintenance and repairs to signs as needed.
Operating and maintaining the tools and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
Must have the flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
Assists in other areas of sign production as assigned
Performs finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces
Installation of all types of signs
Work on different projects simultaneously
Skills and Experience
Able to work at heights with ladders and Bucket / Crane Truck
2+ years of experience in sign installation, construction and related fields
A sound understanding of the applicable installation methods, materials, and safety measures.
The ability to operate hand and power tools.
Manual dexterity
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record for out-of-office installations is an asset
Ability to demonstrate effective listening and verbal skills
Basic math skills ( Knowledge in scale & measurements is essential )
Capacity to read Blueprints Plans, use a measuring tape and work with numbers
Ability to work with others as a team.
Ability to work flexible hours as the project schedule demands
Ability to multitask and work with multiple teams for multiple projects at once
Keen observer, fast learner with excellent oral and written communication
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
