Senior Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET
Job Description
This role requires building automation frameworks, developing test infrastructure, and driving quality across the entire software development lifecycle for enterprise-scale distributed storage solutions.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks using Python and PyTest.
• Develop automated functional, integration, regression, performance, scalability, and reliability tests.
• Design and execute fault-injection, failover, recovery, and chaos testing scenarios.
• Develop automation for cluster deployment, upgrades, rolling updates, and disaster recovery workflows.
• Work closely with developers to identify, reproduce, and resolve complex product issues.
• Perform white-box testing by reviewing architecture, design documents, and code changes.
• Build tools to improve test efficiency, coverage, reporting, and product quality metrics.
• Analyze system behavior under node failures, network disruptions, disk failures, and workload stress conditions.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and test automation integration.
• Drive quality initiatives and improve overall engineering productivity through automation.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in Software QA, Test Automation, or SDET roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Extensive hands-on experience with PyTest.
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale automation frameworks.
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience testing distributed systems and enterprise storage products.
• Strong understanding of:
• Scale-out storage architectures
• File, Block or Object storage
• Data replication and erasure coding
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation infrastructure.
