Description
SPEC. TRACK. CLOSE.
At Armstrong Ceiling Solutions, these aren’t just three words — they’re how we win.
For more than 65 years, Armstrong Ceiling Solutions has helped shape Australia’s commercial buildings. As investment in healthcare, education and infrastructure continues across NSW, we’re expanding our specification team to strengthen our presence with architects, designers and commercial builders. If you’re passionate about building relationships, influencing projects, and seeing opportunities through from concept to completion, we want to hear from you.
The Opportunity
You will influence major commercial projects before products are ever tendered. Working with architects, designers, Tier 1 builders and contractors, you’ll shape specifications that ultimately determine which products are installed across landmark hospitals, universities, commercial office towers, airports, education precincts and major infrastructure developments.
Our philosophy is built on three core pillars:
SPEC: Build trusted relationships with architects and designers.
TRACK: Own projects from concept through construction.
CLOSE: Partner with contractors and distributors to convert opportunities into profitable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Drive specification and project engagement activities across NSW
Develop trusted relationships that increase specification opportunities and project wins
Influence specifications during concept and design phases
Read and interpret construction drawings and project documentation
Manage the full lifecycle from specification through tender, quotation, contractor engagement and final order conversion.
Collaborate with contractors and channel partners to maximise project wins
Deliver CPDs and technical presentations that position Armstrong as the preferred specification partner
Maintain robust project tracking, forecasting, and pipeline management via CRM
About You
You are naturally curious, commercially astute and enjoy building relationships that last. You know how to influence without being pushy, understanding that specification sales is about creating value long before a purchase order is issued. Whether you’re presenting to an architect, walking a construction site or negotiating with a contractor, you build credibility through knowledge, professionalism and follow-through.
You’ll bring:
Extensive experience in specification sales or commercial building products
A proven ability to convert specifications into contractor sales and project wins
Established networks within the architectural, design, and construction sectors
Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills
A self-driven, professional, and solutions-focused approach
(Experience within ceilings, architectural finishes, acoustic solutions, partitions, insulation, or related building products will be highly regarded.)
What success looks like
In the first twelve months you’ll have:
Built trusted relationships across NSW’s architectural and design community
Increased Armstrong specifications on major commercial projects
Developed a healthy pipeline of active opportunities
Converted specifications into profitable commercial wins
Established a reputation as a trusted technical expert customers enjoy working with
Why join Armstrong?
