Job Vacancy: Senior IT Security Specialist, Web Developer & AI Systems Lead

Role Type: Experienced Professional or High-Level Trainee Considered
Location: Office Based Only – Manchester, M25 Prestwich Area
Salary: £30,000+ per annum (Negotiable Based on Experience)

About the Role

As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an exceptional IT Security Specialist to take ownership of security across all company systems, websites, cloud platforms, and internal infrastructure.

This is a security-first position. Your primary responsibility will be protecting the company from cyber threats, securing our Microsoft-based environment, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the resilience of all digital systems.

In addition to security expertise, we require someone with strong technical development skills who can build and maintain websites, automate processes, integrate AI technologies, and support the ongoing development of our digital platforms.

We operate heavily within the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Defender, Intune, Entra ID, SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, and related cloud services.

Key Responsibilities

Cyber Security & Infrastructure

Take full responsibility for company-wide IT security across websites, servers, cloud systems, user devices, and internal platforms.
Monitor, identify, investigate, and remediate security vulnerabilities and threats.
Manage Microsoft Defender, Intune, Entra ID, Conditional Access Policies, Multi-Factor Authentication, and endpoint protection.
Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing reviews.
Implement and maintain best-practice cyber security frameworks and policies.
Ensure all systems meet the highest standards of security, reliability, and compliance.
Manage backups, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity procedures.
Website & Application Development

Design, develop, maintain, and secure company websites and web applications.
Implement secure coding standards and protect applications against modern cyber threats.
Develop new digital platforms and internal systems where required.
Manage website hosting environments, domains, SSL certificates, DNS, and cloud resources.
Optimise website performance, uptime, security, and scalability.
Microsoft 365 & Azure Administration

Administer and secure Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
Manage users, permissions, licensing, security policies, and cloud resources.
Configure and maintain Azure services, storage, networking, and security controls.
Ensure least-privilege access principles are followed throughout the organisation.
AI & Automation

Research, implement, and manage AI solutions to improve efficiency across the business.
Develop AI-assisted workflows, automations, and internal tools.
Identify opportunities where AI can improve customer experience, productivity, and operational performance.
Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies and recommend suitable implementations.
Systems Improvement & Innovation

Continuously review company systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
Implement automation to reduce manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
Build scalable solutions that support future business growth.
Maintain detailed documentation, audit trails, and change management processes.
Required Skills & Experience

Essential

Strong understanding of cyber security principles and best practices.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
Experience with Microsoft Defender, Intune, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and security management.
Strong website development and coding skills.
Knowledge of modern web technologies and secure application development.
Experience managing cloud environments.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to security.
Desirable

Microsoft Azure certifications.
Experience with Azure Security Centre and Defender for Cloud.
Knowledge of AI tools, integrations, and automation platforms.
Experience with Power Platform, Power Automate, and Copilot technologies.
Knowledge of DevOps, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.
Understanding of compliance standards and cyber security frameworks.
Relevant cyber security or Microsoft certifications are desirable, including:

Microsoft SC-900: Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals
Microsoft SC-200: Security Operations Analyst Associate
Microsoft SC-300: Identity and Access Administrator Associate
Microsoft AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer Associate
CompTIA Security+, CySA+ or equivalent cyber security qualifications
Cyber Essentials Assessor, ISO 27001, ITIL or similar governance and compliance training
Degree or Previous Works/Research on Cybersecurity
