Job Description
VAE Group is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Project Manager to join its Sydney team. This is a hybrid role combining strategic business development of minor HVAC projects (up to $1 million) with project management and delivery. You will identify and secure new opportunities with existing and prospective clients, price them, win the work, then see those projects right through to delivery.
Using your HVAC expertise to deliver tailored, engineered solutions, you will partner with end users and facilities managers to influence project decisions, identifying opportunities for “Smarter HVAC Solutions”; upgrades, plant replacements, mechanical refurbishments and capital improvement projects, developing solutions that enhance performance and reliability. Then, you will scope the project, develop the solution, prepare submissions and sales estimates, win the work, and lead the project and team through to successful delivery.
This role reports to the Regional Manager – NSW and the team are based in VAE’s Artarmon office.
What You Will be Doing
Drive the growth of our Service Projects portfolio by developing new business opportunities and building a sustainable pipeline of work
Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients to identify opportunities for mechanical HVAC upgrades, refurbishments and capital improvement projects
Manage the full project lifecycle, from scoping and commercial proposal development through to project delivery and client handover
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards
Work closely with internal teams to coordinate resources, project planning and seamless delivery across the business
Contribute to the continued growth of the Service Projects team by achieving revenue, margin and customer satisfaction targets

About You
The successful candidate will be a Senior HVAC Project Manager with experience in a similar role. You will understand the challenges and opportunities of working in a dynamic and fast-growing business, and have the following attributes:
A knowledge of the HVAC market in Sydney and surrounds is highly desirable
Experience in a similar role, or knowledge of the mechanical construction market
Exceptional communication and customer service skills
Exceptional negotiation, time management and organisation skills
Most importantly, the ability to find new customers, promote VAE and negotiate win/win outcomes by offering smarter HVAC solutions
