Legal Clerk Responsibilities: • Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with the court, ensuring compliance with court procedures and deadlines. • Correspondence: Draft correspondence such as letters, emails, and notices on behalf of lawyers and clients. • Scheduling: Assist in scheduling client meetings, depositions, court appearances, and other important appointments. • Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather information, update them on case progress, and explain legal procedures. • Case Management: Help manage legal cases by tracking case status, deadlines, and client information. • Billing Support: Assist in preparing billing records, tracking hours worked on cases, and helping with legal fee management. • Courtroom Assistance: Attend court proceedings to assist lawyers, manage exhibits, and take notes during trials or hearings. Job description
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled legal professional to join our team as an Employment Lawyer. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in legal affairs, with a strong background in employment law.
Key Responsibilities
• Work closely with HR to provide expert advice on employment-related matters, including hiring, diversity and inclusion, employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence, compensation, benefits, and terminations.
• Review and revise employment policies and practices on a regular basis, providing recommendations on compliance.
• Assist and advise on internal investigations conducted by Human Resources.
• Organise and create training materials for internal clients on legal processes and procedures.
• Independently manage pre-litigation claims and agency charges and litigation, sometimes with external counsel assistance.
• Be a proactive member of the legal team, assisting in timely intake and response to internal client requests, distribution and collection of contract documents and project support documents for review.
• Interpret and apply contracting principles, applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare, compile, and conduct initial review of contract documents and proposed amendments; make modifications or redlines to various department contracts.
• Track and maintain company contracts, including HR/recruitment agreements, real estate leases, non-disclosure agreements, and IT/technology agreements.
• Update and maintain legal dockets, logs, and spreadsheets.
• Organise and prepare various legal reports.
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Requirements
• A minimum of 5 years of overall experience in legal affairs.
• Open to New Delhi as a location.
• Employment labour experience is a must.
