Background working on regulatory issues with an emphasis on the Motor Vehicle Safety Act
Strong understanding of potential legal issues related to FMVSS compliance
8+ years of dedicated experience as a lawyer, with a preference for matters involving the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration or automotive experience
A Juris Doctor (JD) degree is required
Must be a licensed attorney in a U.S. state
Responsibilities
In this role, the attorney will advise clients on compliance with the Motor Vehicle Safety Act and identifying potential issues that require a safety recall
The attorney will play a critical part in communicating directly with business clients, participating in weekly meetings with the Automotive Safety Office and Product Development, and working on Ford’s compliance with NHTSA’s Consent Order

Conduct targeted legal research as necessary to support the drafting of regulatory documents
