Your Opportunity:
Description:
The Senior Consultant supports the Provincial Pathways Unit (PPU) by leading the development, implementation, evaluation, and sustainability of clinical and patient pathways across Alberta. Reporting to the Director, Specialty Access & Provincial Pathways Unit, the role provides expert consultation, leads complex change initiatives, and supports pathway adoption across the health system. Working independently and as part of a collaborative team, the Senior Consultant facilitates provincial co-design teams and stakeholder working groups, provides coaching and mentorship, and contributes to the continued growth of the PPU. The position works closely with primary care, specialty care, operational leaders, academic institutions, and patient and family advisors to ensure pathways are evidence-based, patient-centred, and aligned with provincial priorities. As a key member of the PPU, the Senior Consultant develops innovative solutions that enhance healthcare quality, access, safety, integration, and patient experience. The role supports the PPU vision of standardized, accessible pathways that promote consistent care across Alberta. Provincial pathways help patients, families, and caregivers better understand and navigate their care while enabling providers to access centralized, evidence-based resources that support timely clinical decision-making. Through a coordinated provincial approach, pathways reduce duplication, improve access to specialty services, decrease variation in care, and strengthen integration between primary and specialty care across the health system.
