Qualifications
We are seeking experienced Senior Cisco Network Engineers to support a large-scale network engineering lab environment
The ideal candidates will have deep expertise in Cisco routing, switching, network security, automation, and enterprise carrier-grade environments
7+ years of experience in network engineering roles
Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Routing and Switching technologies
Strong knowledge of:
BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, STP, VXLAN, EVPN
Network security concepts and firewall technologies
IP networking design and troubleshooting
Experience with Cisco IOS, IOS-XE, NX-O
S, and enterprise networking platforms
Experience with network automation using:
Python
Experience supporting lab environments, proof-of-concepts, and network validation
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills with ability to work with global engineering teams
Responsibilities
This role will support Verizon platform engineering activities, global network engineering resource pools, lab validation, troubleshooting, and automation initiatives
The engineer will work closely with network architects, engineering teams, and customer stakeholders to design, deploy, validate, and troubleshoot complex Cisco-based network solutions
Provide advanced technical support for Cisco routing, switching, and security technologies in a lab environment
Design, configure, test, and troubleshoot enterprise/carrier-grade network solutions
Support Cisco platforms including routers, switches, firewalls, and related networking technologies
Perform network validation, integration testing, and issue resolution for Verizon platform environments
Support global Network Engineering (RE) resource pool activities and engineering initiatives
Develop and maintain network automation solutions to improve deployment, testing, and operational efficiency
Create automation scripts using Python, Ansible, or similar tools
Perform troubleshooting across Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, routing protocols, and security configurations
