Job description
Job Title: Legal Counsel
We are seeking an experienced and skilled legal professional to join our team as a Legal Counsel. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to various agencies across South Asia, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and safeguarding the company's commercial interests.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice and guidance on a broad range of matters, including commercial, employment, intellectual property, data privacy, ethics, compliance, and generative artificial intelligence (GAI).
• Manage and oversee litigation and arbitration matters, including civil, criminal, labour, property, and commercial disputes.
• Draft, negotiate, and advise on medium to high complexity commercial agreements.
• Collate and maintain meticulous records and correspondence relating to litigation and compliance matters.
• Assist in briefing senior advocates/external counsel for urgent reliefs and in the preparation of pleadings, applications, and replies for ongoing and new matters.
About You:
• You have at least 6-8 years of post-qualification experience as an in-house lawyer and/or in law firms.
• You have strong commercial acumen and a solution-oriented approach.
• You have excellent command of spoken and written English.
• You have the ability to identify legal risks, issues, and solutions across a broad spectrum of legal areas.
• You have strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• You have the ability to prioritize and manage complex, interrelated tasks and deliver under pressure.
• You have a high energy level, self-driven, motivated, and able to take initiative.
• You have a collaborative team player with a positive attitude and confidence.

Educational Qualifications

• Exposure to Statutory Compliances, Litigation and Intellectual Property law would be advantageous.
• Strong negotiation skills and business and financial acumen.
• Strong communications and drafting skills, including the ability to draft high quality agreements and other documents.
• Well-versed in how business operates in a high degree of professional ethics, integrity and gravitas.
• Ability to have influence across all levels of the business including peers and senior management, and able to work independently.
