Your day as a Senior Associate
As a Senior Associate, you’ll manage the development, implementation, monitoring, improvement and evaluation of key projects within the Climate Finance Programs (CFP) Branch which are effective, innovative and meeting the government’s priority objectives while demonstrating good value for public expenditure. Your typical day-to-day work will include:
Leading and coordinating policy deliverables and cross-agency consultation (e.g. carbon markets, nature, adaptation funding, insurance and risk-sharing mechanisms) ensuring high-quality outputs that inform senior executive decision-making
Overseeing governance, financial coordination and reporting for the team’s program, including liaising with the relevant finance teams to ensure robust processes, effective budget monitoring and accurate, timely reporting to support effective delivery
Managing ongoing maintenance and development of the NSW Sustainable Finance website
Ensuring that all policy and development work is aligned to government policies and priorities, including preparing business cases and project plans, establishing appropriate governance, identifying and allocating resources, and meeting reporting requirements to ensure program design meets the target audiences’ needs and supports efficient and timely delivery of outcomes.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:
Demonstrated experience in leading agile/co-design policy and program scoping, design, development and implementation, ideally related to energy, climate or sustainability
Strong project management skills demonstrating the ability to deliver agreed outcomes on time, on budget, and to quality standards
Solid understanding of financial and economic concepts, ideally in a public policy or fiscal context
Proven ability to influence stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work independently, project manage complex engagements, communicate clearly and effectively (verbally and in writing)
Exceptional analytical skills and ability to interpret data to identify any trends or anomalies
Ability to adapt to and thrive in a continuously changing business and policy environment
Tertiary qualifications in economics, science, engineering, social policy, finance, law or other relevant areas are highly regarded
